I spotted this glass sign while wandering around Bridport town centre. I thought as a little bit of history it was worth sharing.
It proclaims “Nursery and toilet requisites”. Who would use a word like “Requisites” in their advertising today? I suspect no-one.
You will find this sign at the Well Pharmacy at 24 East Street, Bridport.
This is one of those older buildings where you enter through the main door on the street. You then go through a second door to your left to enter the shop. In this entrance lobby there is a door straight ahead of you and it is over this you will find this piece of glass.
Many shops would have had similarly decorated permanent advertising in the past. I guess it is the unusual indoor location of this one that has seen it survive into the twenty-first century.
