Who remembers Fine Fare supermarkets?

Who remembers Fine Fair supermarkets with their distinctive bright orange logo.

Here in West Dorset there was a Fine Fair in Bridport on the site of what is now the Waitrose supermarket. Thinking back this supermarket has traded under a number of names, for many years it was a Somerfield.

One distinctive thing about Fine Fare was the plain bright yellow packaging used for their own brand products. These were a forerunner of the modern Tesco Value and Sainsbury’s Basics ranges.

Below is a television advert for Fine Fare from 1986.
