Aussie Dave lets rip at the claim on a Dyson vacuum cleaner box

Dave Jones is an Australian electronics engineer and video blogger. He runs the YouTube channel EEVblog.

Dave took exception to the claim on the box of a hand held Dyson vacuum cleaner he bought that “No carbon brushes means zero carbon emissions“. I have to agree this is a statement of dubious intent. The carbon brushes in conventional motors wear down an thus create small amounts of carbon dust, but what do you immediately think of when you hear ‘carbon emissions’ mentioned? I suspect carbon dioxide, the greenhouse gas, rather than carbon dust.

Dave Jones makes no bones about what he thinks of this claim, and does so in a rather amusing way. This video is well worth a view.
