The piece below was originally written in May 2015. These days I do see the charger being used sometimes.
I parked in the East Street car park in Bridport earlier today and noticed that an electric car charging station has been installed near the entrance.
It bears a resemblance to a petrol pump with its three dispensers with different coloured handles, but instead of green for unleaded petrol and black for diesel here the colours represent the various electrical connectors manufacturers fit to their electric and hybrid vehicles.
This newly installed public electric car charging point currently sits between two disabled parking bays. I guess this is only temporary and these will become charging bays once the unit becomes fully functional. I wonder if the disabled bays will be replaced elsewhere in the car park?
