Scamming a scammer

I felt I just had to share the YouTube video below. It involves one of those unsolicited calls saying your computer is infected.

When these scammers called computer software expert Noah Magram of Sourcefire he played along. He granted them access to one his ‘computers’ (actually it was a a virtual machine). He then recorded the screen and what they did to his machine. Noah provides a commentary on the conversation that took place between himself and the agent. He even tells them it is a virtual machine. Still do not catch on that the tables are turned ad they, the scammers, are being taken for a ride.

This video is worth watching and sharing. Knowledge is power. The more people who know the techniques these unscrupulous cold callers use the better. That way they are less likely to wreak mayhem on the unsuspecting and charge for doing so.
